When using Revit 2023, why does clicking file button mean that it takes so long to open and freezes Revit for a good while before the drop down appears, it is very annoying.
Might be because Windows is searching all paths / drives. And if a path doesn't resolve, it will retry to connect for a while and eventually gives up and only then presents the paths / drives it actually can resolve.
The Places-bar in Revit is something to check first.
That was an issue with older versions a while back and I just noticed it again recently. I think recent files may have something to do with it, IIRC.
I had thought it might be related to file paths, but didn't know if there was a way to turn off revit looking for them. Sorry for the stupid question, but what is the places-bar?
Close Revit. Open revit.ini file under C:\Users\{your name}\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2024 (your version). Delete all entries under [Recent File List] and under [Recent Workset List].
