Why do overriden elements do not show patches when phasing?

In graphic overrides in the phase manager, whenever I set anything to be overridden, even if I set the pattern not

to be overridden, when I cut a wall in section, no patches show up, I just get the outer lifework of the wall.

Why is this?

sounds like you may have a override applied to the wall already, maybe?

here is one of my favorite images.... print it out and hand it on your wall.....

This is my exiting wall

I want to have existing walls greyed out in section, so i set the wall to overriden, and in graphic filter set the cut

linework to grey and leave the pattern as no overide.

My wall end up looking like below, with no interior lines or patches showing....
