I am trying to reduce a bloated project model built by a fellow staff member in Revit 2017.
Using Ideate Explorer, I have identified over 950 "Reference Plane Instances".
I can't single them out, I can't find them anywhere, Revit can't "Show Me" where they are. I can get their ID number by Revit can't find them anywhere.
Even when Ideate Explorer selects them I can't delete them.
What the heck are they and how do I get rid of them?

Doesn't it work ,if you select all and then apply Filter?

As I have commented before, this should be written in the project's BIM standards: important reference planes should have a name and should be in a dedicated workset. Any reference plane that does not comply with this should be deleted. This is just bad practice, to fill a project with a thousand reference planes without any classification. I assume you can find them with select all in project, but that is not going to tell you which planes are important and which are not.
Select all option is not working for reference planes, it is grayed out.
I guess the only option is to try with dynamo.
