Hi everyone,
I've started using Insight to generate some lighting analysis/solar studies. I'm still learning my way through it and if this is more appropriate for their forums please let me know.
Yesterday I created 4 lighting analysis and paid for the results from my cloud credits. I applied a view template to each floor plan and changed the view name, placed it on a sheet and printed to pdf. Today, the floor plans have all lost their analysis results and the properties for the views have changed as well.
This is what my lighting analysis looks like today. They are all still there.
This is what my lighting analysis floor plan looks like today along with it's properties.
This is what the floor plan looked like yesterday.
Why has the lighting analysis disappered? What has happened to the "Analysis Display Settings" property?
Do I need to rerun the analysis eveytime I re-print the sheet?

Hello @Lachlan-JWP, thank you for the question!
It sounds like you renamed the views with the Insight results and I’ve seen this cause the results to no longer display in the view.
Have you tried generating results in the model using the previously run analyses’, by selecting the prior Run and then clicking Go (when I tested this, the Insight views were recreated)?

Hi @Lance.Coffey, thanks for your response. I found a couple of old forum threads which indicated a similar issue, but they didn't have a definite answer.
I can confirm that I renamed the views as I was trying to put 4 different plan on 1 sheet to present to the client. This worked fine as I printed to pdf in the same session with no issue. It was only when revit was restarted that the information disappeared.
Can you recommend a workflow for creating and maintaining multiple energy analysis floor plans in a project?
Can you confirm that selecting the previously generated analysis, restores the Insight views?
Once you have the Insight views in the project, I would try using the Default Analysis Display Style property to modify the appearance of the other floor plan views (to include the solar analysis), while retaining the original Insight views.

Selecting the previously generated insights created a new floor plan view. I can change which result is being shown, but that changes the results for all views.
Unfortunately once the view has been renamed and the insight data has been "lost" from it, the Analysis display property also disappears from that views property window. Reselecting the alanysis results does not affect these re-named views in any way.
Defaulot Analysis Display Styles
This window only changes the display style of the results, not the result being shown. eg. Will change colours, but will not change solar access to sDA result.
Alanysis Display Settings
I can't work out what this window is for. I create multiple results, but they do not appear here. How can I populate this window?
New floor plan
A new floor plan create today.
New floor plan - 1
A new floor plan created today. Shown the same results as the floor plan above.
Previous floor plan
One of the old floor plans I created last week. No longer has alanysis data linked to it.
Lighting analysis results
The Lighting analysis that Ihave created in this project.
This is what I created last week in a single session. Ideally, I'd like to be able to create multiple floor plans showing different analysis results on the same sheet, that can be re-run when changes occur to the project.
Hi guys,
I just discovered the coolest workaround to this, just RENAME your view and add"_InsightLighting" to the start of the name ... et voila .. you can reflect your daylighting results back to it ..
You're welcome ![]()
I had a problem related to this, really appreciate some help. The "Analysis Display Settings" simply never showed under the Graphics, although I can see the "Default Analysis Display Style". However, applying a new "style" does not bring the analysis (supposed to be a coloured surface) alive.
