I had a user lose a lot of work yesterday by not saving for several hours (yeah, I know) and then having Revit 2017 crash when he tried to synchronize with central.
The odd thing is that, according to the journal files, his "save reminders" quit appearing halfway through the day.
Here's the timeline:
He was working constantly through the day, again according to the journal file. There were no manual save attempts recorded in the journal. (Again, yeah, I know.)
Setting aside the training issue of "save early, save often", why did he stop getting save reminders? His "save reminder interval" is set to 15 minutes. Build 20170419_0315.
That is an interesting time gap. What does the journal say about the user's other activities during that time? Is it possible that Revit wasn't getting much use during that time.
Hopefully they will learn to stop canceling save reminders...

By any chances - had Save Reminder Intervals been turned to No Reminders? Possibly the same for Sync?
Didn't he save before syncing? Also - too long of a gap between syncs can cause bad things to happen.....
I feel your pain.....
No, the model was pretty much in constant use. I'd rather not post the whole journal file, but would an excerpt be helpful?
And yes, this will be a learning experience...
No, his Save reminder is set to 15 minutes. Sync reminder is 2 hours.
And no, no manual saves before syncing...obviously not ideal, but not the problem I'm trying to solve in this thread.
I don't know if I'll be able to see anything you didn't but you can email me the journal, you know the number. ![]()

It's been a while and I'm checking back to see if your issue is resolved or if you still seek assistance from the community?
From your post you've mentioned that you are on build number 20170419_0315, can you confirm if you updated to Revit 2017.2.1?
To make sure that the issue you are seeing is not something already fixed in one of the product updates, I would suggest checking the Desktop App to see if there are any Revit updates available. For information on using the Desktop App see the following article: About the Autodesk Desktop App
Note: If you are not able to download updates through the Desktop App, the following article has information on downloading updates through the Autodesk Accounts page:
Install Updates, Add-ons, and Enhancements
Again does this happen for a specific project and user?
Can you try setting to 'no reminder' for save reminder interval and 'sync with central' reminder, save the project and then relaunch Revit, then set the save reminder again.
Clear all instance fo the temp folder.
If the issue still persists, send us a recent journal specific to the user. I can share a private folder if you'd like.
Looking forward to your reply update.

I am working in Revit 18.3 and set sync reminders to 15 minutes and they are not showing.
I double checked the settings after i noticed that i was not being reminded. Something is not working correctly.
I'm sorry to hear that!
What does the journal record?

Hello everyone!
I arrived here because I am searching for the same answer. I have a client who has this issue on only ONE computer. Revit 2019.2 latest build and nothing unusual I see anywhere. I even deleted his revit.ini and UiState.dat and double checked the values in the new ini - 30 minutes. Very strange. They even tell me this happens on previous Revit versions too! (on that same machine). My best guess it is related to something in the (.NET framework) missing or corrupt.
@KateMorricalTowne - did you ever get your answer? BTW welcome to the BIM world
You used to be the CAD girl.
@Basam.Yousif Can you try a quick repair and see if this helps resolve the issue?
Also, check if windows has been updated recently with latest updates.

@Viveka_CD, I have a couple of users reporting this in 2019.2.2. They state it has been happening since before that update I recently pushed, so it was happening in 2019.2.1 also. They are not receiving any reminders for saving or synch'ing.
I'm not sure why this is happening to just the couple of users b/c we have a VMware setup, so everyone is using the exact same machine setup/installation. I.E. when I'm logged into a machine, it will still give me a save reminder, although I'm not getting the Synch reminder. We have both reminders set to 30 mins.
Any thoughts? What should I check for?
Hi @adbryson

Hi @adbryson
We feel that this may be a windows issue, since you've mentioned some users get the reminder and some don't
Some screenshots of your task manager and setup will help us diagnose further.

Thanks for the response @Viveka_CD
To answer your questions:
I am using VMware version 4.7.0 build-7395453 (one of the users with no reminders is on 4.8.1 the other is on 3.5.2)
Attached are some screenshots of the task manager
let me know if you need more info/screenshots
