Dear Revit users,
I would like to know if there are any rules or Autodesk intention for manufacturers who use Revit and create families to clarify their product can be applied for LEED certified building and earn the score such as in BIMObject.
I was figuring out the information might be shown in the system parameter "model" in Identity Data.
I can still research for environmentally products by typing "LEED" on the research box in BIMobject, however, once they are downloaded into the project, it would be nice there is set value in a parameter or something.
I also want to avoid ignoring Autodesk intention for each system parameter.
Moreover, there is a new group type for the parameter called " Green Building Properties" so I am a bit confused where the information about LEED should be....
Do you have any thought?
Yuki
There are no rules when it comes to this stuff. It would fall under guidelines, standards, and conventions rather than rules. It's really just an organizational formatting suggestion. It's up to the interested parties and/or industry to decide on a convention. If you see something that makes sense and no one else is driving that bus, go with it. In this case, that would be the green building category.
Most of the LEED information I have seen in Revit Families is coming from a URL Parameter under different categories, depending on what version this Family was built in, and who built the Family. I think it would be smart to categorize that information under Green Building Properties. Who would object to that?
