When you click text to edit it, you must keep the mouse icon directly over the text edit box otherwise Revit will not allow any text edits.
The annoying thing that the author of this idea never considered was that when you lift your hand off your mouse to type on the keyboard with your other hand it often moves the mouse.
What do you call this abomination that I have lost months of my time to?
I need to make a meme. It really deserves it
Reviving this thread because this continues to be super annoying and there is no longer an Ambidextrous add-in that I can see.
This may be some Windows and Revit combined bug. I've seen other people complain about different fields about this. Someone posted about having this problem in properties palette.
For me it's renaming views in project browser. But not always. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it's like I've hit enter immediately after starting to rename it, like split second after. I just hit F2 again so in this case it's not a big issue for me.
Everything else, including text, works fine.
This must be limited to editing properties in Properties Palette? I don't observe this situation editing text I add to a view. I only see the cursor position mattering when editing properties. I don't see the issue renaming views or sheets in the Project Browser.
I assume that this is related to the Apply Properties behavior associated with the Properties Palette, when you move the cursor away from PP it applies changes we've made.
