hello, not possible at all unless you change revit links to custom and hide from visibility graphics / per view. thanks

@danezeq

As ennu already said when it is set to "by linked view" the overrides for visibility and graphics of "Any single Element" of the linked model follow the settings you have set in the Linked model itself. IE: In such case, there is no way to right click an element in a link and access the "hide element in view" (they will always be greyed out) and that is what it is meant to be BY LINKED VIEW

You need to set it either "by Host view" or "Custom"... then when u select a single element of the linked model, you you will be able to (via the right click menu)

  1. override it's visibility (by element/Category) and
  2. override it's graphics in view (by category) .

@danezeqhello, you still need to go to model categories and set to custom. after you do this use TAB to select element you want to hide. thanks

i think none of you understand his question. i am stuck in the same situation. i linked Equipment link. i want to hide 1 single element in that equipment link. i did change to custom/ link by view. but impossible to hide single element. i guess rEvit doesn't support it yet. and what is the point of hide the category of special equipment when i linked it !

Um....totally possible to hide one single element in a linked model.   You have to TAB once for the linked model then tab again until you get what you want to hide.   This is the only method to hide items when using Revit LT as you cannot control visibility via Visibility Graphics for linked files only.

When the link is set to "by Link View", you can TAB select element(s) in the link, but the option to Hide or Override is grayed out.

There's a difference between By Host View > Custom, and By Linked View > Custom.

If you are in By Linked View, or a customisation of By Linked View, you can't override graphics in view.
