When Linking one revit file to another, do the CAD links from the first file also link?

If we have one revit model linked into another and I am wondering if the Cad link from the first file would also be linked in to the second revit model? 

Right now the imported categories in our files are not the same so I'm wondering if that really works? Prehaps linked CAD files do but imported CAD files do not? 

Any explanations and descriptions would be helpful. Thank you.

It's turned off by default. Go to Revit Links Tab on VGOs and set your Revit Link to Custom and then navigate to the Imported Categories Tab and turn it on.
