What REVIT template should I use for my project?

A cordial greeting to all participants of this forum.

I would like to clarify what is the correct way to work in Revit for different types of plans. Or what procedure should be followed for the proper elaboration of a complete set of plans.

Revit consists of different series of templates of type, construction, architectural, structural, electrical system, piping system, etc. Here is the question, to create from the same project each of these disciplines I have to do separately in each of them, or simply create everything in a single file, no matter what template you start working with. Because there must be a reason why they come predefined separately.

As I understand, each of these Revit templates consists of different characteristics,

Or that way I can have all the features of all these templates in a single project.

Which is the right way to work in Revit.

Usually, different scopes of work are made by different professionals, located in different offices. Therefore, each professional uses the most appropriate template for his or her work. Then, all the models are linked. It is very rare to see all 5 or 6 disciplines required for a project in the same model. Even in offices that provide all the services, doing separate models have advantages over putting all the work in one single model.

Your understanding is correct and perhaps a good reason you would not want to use different templates.  Just saying: nothing prevents you from using one template -- one familiar environment -- for all disciplines.  It's really up to you what works best.

Most places make their own templates as those are only provided as examples and hardly ever fit company standards.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
