What Really Is The Difference Between A Drafting View And A Detail View?

Hello folks, Happy New Year all!

I must say I have been learning Revit good enough. Two items in Revit really boggles my mind.

Can someone please, (as simple as possible, if you don't mind) explain to me the difference

between Drafting View and Detail View? I have Googles and read a lot about those two. The more

I read about their differences the more I see both as about the same.

What are their differences  and their respective applications, especially in an existing Revit project?

Thanks.

The major differentiation is that Drafting views are not directly associated with the model, while Detail Views are.

Drafting View - 2D only view created via the Drafting View tool - no annotation elements associated with it except we can create a View Reference that points to a drafting view via other view types. They do not see/show any part of the 3D model.

Detail View - Orthogonal View of the model created as a type of Elevation, Section or Callout views. It can include 3D and 2D elements. Some 3D modelling actions are not possible but it is a view of the actual model which permits the addition of 2D view specific annotation. They are intended to create live model references for detailing with 2D components like symbols, tags, text and dimensions.
