What is the level of the view range cut plane ?

I want to set (i.e. type in) parameters of windows, like the floor number and blok (building) they are in, but I am having difficulty selecting only the windows of a given floor on a plan view. Windows above or below often get selected as well. In addition, they are often invisible and thus hard to deselect.

First, the help article ‘About the View Range’ does not say anything about selection, but it looks like it is supposed to apply to selection as well.

Second, in order to set top and bottom clip planes, I need to be able to set their height, relative  to a known reference. For example I can set the top cut plane at a chosen offset from ‘Associated Level (10 Eerste verdieping)’.

But I don’t know where that plane is located. How can I discover (and set ?) the height/level of these planes ?

Associated Level is the Level where you created the View. Regarding your window selection, if you don't want to select certain windows, they should be outside of the range between the bottom and the top of the View Range. It will be easier to select them if you switch to elevations, or filter them by Level in a schedule.

Thanks.

How can I discover the level where a view was created ?

Not all windows have a level and the level isn’t always what I want. The ones in curtain walls don’t have a level. Nonetheless that method is something to keep in mind for the future.

Select a view and look at Properties where it says Associated Level.

For the view from before the Associated Level field has the value ’10 Eerste verdieping’. Great. How can I find out where that is ?

Create an elevation and look at the levels shown in ir.

You should study up on levels. Learn them and learn them well. Without this knowledge, you will be doing yourself a disservice.

Indeed, elevation views seem to show the level of cut planes.

Unfortunately  I can’t describe how to get them since it required a lot of meddling to examine one. However, the help does have an article entitled ‘Create an Elevation View’.
