Hello.

When will Revit 2018 quit functioning?

I understand it will be in April. But I don't know what day in April.

Thank you for your time.

What do you mean quit functioning, I currently have copies of 2013, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 on my computer. It would only stop working if your license expires if you are using the subscription type and that would be based on your organizations choice.

We were told that the subscription version of Revit 2018 would quit functioning in April 2023.

We can no longer contact the person who found out this information from Autodesk.

We were wanting to know if anybody on this forum would know what date in April that Revit 2018 would quit functioning.

I've also contacted my Autodesk Representatives.

I thought Autodesk went subcription-only 5 years ago. I did not know they still did perpetual licensing.

All existing perpetual licenses still function, all new licenses are subscription and depending on what subscription you have you can have more or less version subscriptions. You may be on a 5-version subscription so you only have 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 starting in April. Your reseller would be your go to for this information if it is not accessible through you company account which purchased the licensing.

I was unable to find that information on manage.autodesk.com. That's probably me.

I'm contacting my reseller now.

My understanding is the software will no longer be available after it is retired.  This means, you need to keep a local copy of installers, serial numbers, and product keys so you can reinstall the software in the future.  This of course assumes the software will still run on the future versions of windows.  My advice is to save those things somewhere before April comes.

Revit 2018 will expire on the date that Revit 2024 is released in April. This information came from our Autodesk Representative.

Thank you everyone
