Want to have Window Tag that displays window dimensions

I have succeeded in using labels with linked shared parameters to dimensions if the labels are in the window family directly, but not if the labels are created in window tag nor if a Generic Annotation family with the labels is inserted into the window tag family.

Any suggestions?

It can work in the tag, and that would be the easy and best practice, instead of including annotations in the window family. Simply add labels Width and Height to the Window Tag family, something like this:

No need to use Shared Parameters.

Is there a reason why Shared Parameters won't work? Most of our windows are assemblies of multiple nested window panels, each with their own Width and Height, so the shared parameter for Overall Width and Overall Height is preferred.

I have set up our tag to have labels linking to the shared parameters, and they don't report the actual size instead just show the Sample Value.

It is possible if the shared parameters exist in both the window tag family and the window family.

Yes, I was able to get that to work once I deleted the window tag from the project and reloaded the family. However, it'd be great if I could put the label in it's own nested Generic Annotation family so that I could easily load it into other families- is that not possible? In the attached file the window tag contains both a live label (which works) and a nested Generic Annotation family with the same label (which doesn't).

I think that is not possible (using a nested annotation family with shared parameters inside a window tag family, and getting the values to show correct information from the window in the project). Nesting that family into the window tag is unnecessary anyway because the tag can work correctly as explained above.

Too bad.  Yes, it's not necessary, but a separate Generic Annotation family would make it easier to load into other tag families, etc.

Thanks for your help!
