Hi Autodesk, and other revit users
Info:
metric template
Revit 2018
Problem:
The problem startet at a project that where modelled after a SketchUp project that where linked into the project as a IFC, and in that project every thing is not placed on "clean" messurements. and angles, it is under or over 90 degrees with 0.23154786 or somethhin very wird, and the same with alligned dimension. and why is that a problem, it is a problem when you work with groups. and alle the time we get a error like "object is slightly out of axsis. so we connect alle this problems to the inaccurate IFC model.
In this new project I then wanted every thing is in the right place. I created a dimension line for "alligned" and "angled", called QC, that have 10 decimales. And in denmark we have a sertin way to place things in a brik walls, like a oppening i want to be 1600mm in width will be 1632mm.
But i have all most the same problem here. i have placed a object at it rigth place, and when i messure it with my QC diemnsion line it is 0.12348489 or something like that, missed placed.
Why is it posible to place thing in 0,00000001 degrees and alligned. i coul dunderstand that it was need in Inventor, but in a program for buildings i dont get.
Other that have same exprience...?
Always problems with IFC. Export IFC from a Revit project and then import that same IFC to some new Revit project. See what happens. Its not working.
Did you model in Sketch Up?

only in the first project
but in the second project i was a clean start from sketch based on messurements from a DWG in a DWG viewer
Don't rely on importing from Sketch Up. Model everything in Revit. I'm sorry, but that's how it is... There s no open BIM source.

I know... but that is NOT the issue....!
The issue is that things, walls and windows in walls can be placed on wird distance from another object....
Do you get an error message about objects being too far from origin?
Sounds like you linked in the DWG and started drawing from where that DWG's elements were and you are too far away from Revit's origin.
Nope, not to fare away. and no DWG
As ave tryed to explain, on this second project i started with a clean template, with no linked files, every thing is made accoording to a DWG in a seprat DWG viewer from Autodesk. So no DWG viewer in the project.
I have checked 5 other project, and if you add 10 decimals to the dimens lines they have same issue, no object that are messured are X.0 they all have funny varriation like the img i have atteched to this subject.
