I have an existing building, going to add insulation layer around existing walls, changing some of the doors and windows ( some are staying ). In the result I want to show new plan and demolished plan, quantities of demolished constructions, new walls, doors, windows, etc. The building is huge, so I dont want to do a lot of calculations by hand or manually change visibility every time.
As far as I can see, its not possible right now in Revit. In the forums, I could find 2 possible options, in any of them i still would have to do some part of work by hand. The options I found are :
1. Make existing wall and add the insulation as another wall with phase "New construction".
2. Make existing wall and demolish it in next phase, add new wall with insulation in phase "New construction".
I cant believe Im the only one with this problem - how others are solving this ?
Please help me choose which method to use and resolve some issues I have listed ( or havent
)

You don't. You create a Host Wall for the Door/Window (slightly bigger than the Opening Cut) and set its Phase Demolished to NONE.
thanks, but now in demolished plan view, the insulation is still shown, even thought i specified this part as demolished in new construction. Plan view is set to show previous and demolished.
+ new doors, that are placed in new construction ( in demolished plan they are just wall openings ), they are still cut through all wall parts.
At this point im considering adding insulation as another wall, placing wall openings for doors and windows. I would lose wall wrap around openings and wall schedule would need some work, + i think adding another wall would be more time consuming, are there any more disadvantages ?
So, what you are saying is that Parts is not working for you, and you've decided to demo the existing wall entirely and replace it with a new wall. Do I have it right? If so, sounds good to me. Are you going to do what I suggested in Message #3?
