How many layers of links do you have?
I guess two? The unit models are linked to the level model and the level model is then linked to the main host which is the block model so the unit models would become nested links in the block model.
1. What are the Unit Types? are these also .rvt linked models with 2 levels (Base and Top)
Unit types are the flat/apartment types (for e.g, 2-room unit, 3-room unit, etc etc). No, there is nothing linked to the units (if that is your question). Each unit type is an individual .rvt file with 2 levels (Base and Top)
2. By block file you mean the host model of Block A?
Yes, when I say block file, I am referring to the main host file of Block A in which all level models are linked.
3. and what do you mean by Level File? Why arent the levels in Block A
Level files are where I import the unit type files. The level files are in Block A as links. The reason I didn't model the levels directly in the Block A is because some of the levels are repeated. I only put down until lvl 3 in the diagram to be clearer but in the project, the Block A has over 20 levels. And not all levels have the same layout so I find it easier to model the repeating levels on a separate .rvt file then copy/paste the link in the host model.
What are the links set as? Underlays or attachments?
"Unit Type" links are set as "attachments" in the "Level" file so that they show up in the main host model, "Block A". The "Level" links are "Overlay" in the "Block A".
