Wall Transparency using filter in view with Structural Discipline

Hello,

I am having a problem with setting a wall to be transparant using a view filter.

What i want to achieve is to make all walls with a certain material (in this case a material called ARCADE_kalkzandsteen) transparant so that you can see the beam lying on top of a wall opening, including the 'overlap' of the beam onto the wals. I wanted to achieve this while keeping the foreground pattern of the wall displayed.

This does not pose a problem as long as I have the discipline of the view set to 'Coordination' or 'Architectural'.

However, the pattern of the wall dissapears as soon as I set the discipline of the view to 'Structural'. If I dont apply any filter transparency (or any filter at all) to the wall while having the discipline set to structural the foreground pattern displays just fine.

I have added two screenshots to demonstrate the result. One where the discipline is set to coordination which gives me the result I need, and one with structural discipline which poses the problem. I need to achieve the same results with the discipline set to structural since the use of discipline is already a big part of our workflow. Is this possible?

The fill pattern of the wall is defined by its material. I have added a third screenshot of the materials graphic properties.

The filter is applied to Walls, and uses the following rule: Structural material-equals-"ARCADE_kalkzandsteen".

If anyone would be able to help me with this problem I would greatly appreciate this. Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Luis

what happens if you change the wall transparency under model categories?

Then it gives a transparancy to all the walls, i only want to add transparancy to walls that have a specific structural material.

In any case, the same problem persists. If the discipline is set to Coordination it gives a gradual increase in transparancy as I increase the value in the model overrides. If it is set to Structural the pattern dissapears as soon as i gove a 1% transparancy to the wall category.

I have found the solution.

The cause of the problem was not just the Discipline but actually the 'Show Hidden Lines' parameter (and its link to the Disciplines). If I set the 'Show Hidden Lines' parameter to 'By Discipline' the fill patterns did show up.

Extra info: With the 'Discipline' set to Coordination/Architectural, the fill pattern shows up regardless of the 'Show Hidden Lines' parameter. The Transparancy is also gradual based on the percentage when the Discipline is set to Coordination/Architecture as opposed to the Sructural Discipline where the walls are either Transparant or not.

this does not work for walls with a hatched fill, giving a wall with a solid fill to be transparant, will remove the entire hatch. So problem is not solved this way

Removing the solid fill entirely and only keeping the foreground pattern was exactly what I wanted to achieve, so I think we are having different problems. Unless I am misunderstanding you?

I also use a hatch PATTERN for bearing masonry and that also needs to show transparant to see the upper beams.
BUT with this same configuration our concrete walls have a solid hatch (color 192-192-192 for example) but with these kind of walls the transparancy doesnt apply. We only see the beam lines, but not the beam hatches on top of concrete walls

I see, in that case we are in fact having different problems. Would a filter for a concrete wall with a semi transparancy applied as override not work?
