Wall sweep: Cannot select sweep end to modify return

I have a "free standing" wall with same sweep on both sides (at same height) and am trying to modify the return. On one end of the wall it worked fine. On the other end I can only modify one side. What am I missing? I've attached images - hope they help.

After changing the return above the tool switched from Return to Straight Cut:

The tool remained in this state (Straight Cut) when you attempted to edit the last return:

The tool's options are trying to be helpful, they see that both ends of the first sweep have already been changed to returns (after you changed the second one) so it switches itself over to the only remaining option for that sweep (Straight Cut).

It then remembers that option when you start it again on the second sweep.

You just need to tick it back to "Return".
