Wall Reveal - slab ledge

In the elevation the slab is shown through the wall reveal. ??  When in the 3d view the wall reveal / slab ledge is shown correctly. Any advice on how to get the elevation to display correctly? I would like to see the foundation wall and not the slab behind it in the elevation view.

I have attached to images to illustrate the issue.

Thanks,

Matthew

I cannot understand what I'm looking at in the Elevation view. There are many elements present that are not shown in the 3D view, and the Realistic setting does me no favors. And what's the wide gray bar all the way across the bottom that seemingly has no edge line at the top of it? Is it actually an Elevation, or is it a Section?

I'm also confused by your terminology. Is your beam created using the Slab Edge tool and associated Profile, or is it a Wall type with a Reveal built in?

Please clarify and I'll try to help.

Sorry.  How about this?  I thought I should be seeing a foundation wall and not a slab.  An elevation is a section.

I'm using this drawing to submit to the city for the site planning process.  They want to see the material color and texture.

Thank you,

Matthew

Sure, a Section is a type of Elevation, but we usually agree that an Elevation view looks from some distance out, while a Section view cuts through something. I was wondering if you were perhaps expecting the exterior Elevation view (since you expect to see foundation wall in front of the slab, presumably turn the corner) but perhaps instead you had a Section view that was cut through the concrete inside of the wall you expect to see.

It APPEARS to me that, even if it is an Elevation view, maybe its view range starts further in than you think.

I created the grade beam and brick ledge as one slab edge profile, then joined the slab edge to the slab.

Notice the difference that the Elevation view's extents make...

I hate to say this but it was operator error.  The wall was attached to the bottom of the slab.

Thank you for your help
