How would do make an arch vertical wall recess that goes through multiple floors?
Currently, I have a wall-based family with the void. However, This does not work in terms of wall composition. The structure of the wall is different where the recess is.
I see the possibility to have two wall types, one deeper than the other and the arch is done by doing a custom wall profile.
But this gives me little flexibility with moving these reveals or changing their widths.
Use a "frameless" window family. Open an arch-topped window family, save-as ( name it "frameless") and edit it to remove the frame extrusions and trim.
You can control the depth of the "recess" into the wall like you would using a typical window family.
(I'm wondering however, in the real world, how your proposed opening will be built?)
This is an interesting solution but it does address the problem of having different wall componnts.
Wall type 1: stud wall then 80mm insulation, 40mm air gap and 100-200 mm terracotta tiles
Wall type 2 (inside recess): stud wall then just 50mm expanded cork panel attached with adhesive
Use Join Geometry to join the walls, then the "windows" (and doors) will cut thru both walls.
Use the Paint Tool to apply the Wall's Material to the surfaces created by the Void Family that is cutting the Walls.
