Wall Phase Existing Construction Not Showing Material

I am using Existing Walls in a project and need to show they are painted in renderings but the material will not show when I edit the wall's structure to show the material or when I use the paint tool. When I change the wall's phase to New Construction, the material is visible in the renderings. I cannot change the wall phase because I need them shown as existing.

Set the view's phase filter to Show Complete.
