Wall opening controls

I have a few walls where the wall opening tool doesn't allow control over height and width. When i change one the other changes as well. Thought it might be profile editing so i removed the profile edit but still get the issue. I aslo confirmed it occurs on walls that never had their profile edited. See attached screen cap.

Any idea what is causing this or how to correct

Edit the family and make sure it is properly constrained...

If it is a model in place ... model it in a loadable face based family, a wall based or a window family

  • Reveal constraints ... is it locked/constrained to anything? if yes, unlock
  • Try cut to clipboard then past back aligned same place ... does the behaviors change or it still acts weird

Can you cut to clipboard paste back aligned same place...and check behavior

Otherwise paste to a blank model both Wall and opening and attach that for a close look

That wall doesn't by chance have unlocked layers, does it?

No unlocked layers Its a pretty simple wall. Does have profile editing but the issue continues even after resetting the profile

I did cut and paste aligned it moved all the wall openings around and resized them, but the issue remains.

Insert the wall opening on the wall.

Then, click on the WALL, and you will see that the corners where the opening is located are locked, like it does not allow a joint connection. Click the symbols to allow joint.  Picture below shows one side with clear joints and the other that does not allow it. Good luck.
