Hey Guys,
I have watched just about every video on the web on railings and understand there are many work arounds to make the railings work. I still constantly run into issues with the appearance of my handrails (specifically on stairs - and their extensions....)
For starters I have uploaded the handrail I have modified to suite our Canadian codes and client standards with handrail extensions. If we have a look at the plan views, you can see where I have drawn my path; and you can see in the type properties my extensions - 1' at the bottom and 1' 11" at the top. (the reason I don't use the "plus tread depth" is because I don't use a top tread...). After I complete the railing and dimension it It is frustrating to see that my dimensions are out by a few /8's of an inch. Can someone tell me if I have set up my railing incorrectly or if my path is drawn incorrectly?
My 2nd question is specific to the landing adjustment parameter. It seems to me like the bottom of the hand rail does not recognize that it has hit a landing. Because when I adjust the landing to -6 7/8" the top will adjust but not the bottom. Is there a work around for creating accurate extensions and hand rail heights?
Thanks in advance,
Curt
it will host to the floor if you don't break the railing and extend it far enough. Stretch it far enough and will eventually meet that landing height adjustment point and level off.
