wall line weight problem using "join"command

hello everyone,

i'm having a strange reaction from "join" command at my line weight while i'm trying to join a wall and a roof .

at the attachments below,

the image no 2 - shows the wall and the roof while they are "unjoined" and there line weights as they supposed to be by my settings.

the image no 1 - shows the wall and the roof after applying the " join" command and the error occurs.

any one got any suggestion?  🙂

First of all, you can just delete everything except that wall and roof and purge before you upload your file.

When your wall and roof is not joined, the line weight is controlled by the VG setting. You can type VG to create the setting.  When you join the wall and the roof, the join line becomes a common line and no longer controlled by the VG overriding. It will be controlled by the sub category “Common Line” under the Roof or Wall Category ( can’t remember exactly) which is set to line weight 10 in your file.  You can just set the line weight of that cut line a bit thinner to fix this.

It's actually 6,  the default line weight for this in the Autodesk template is 1.

Join Geometry is not the root issue here. It's your Cut Line Styles.  Your settings here are counteracting Join Geometry. These overrides have hierarchy.

Thanks for sharing, first time knowing this option exists. It explains why the cut line thickness didn't change when I tried to change the VG setting...
