wall joint in elevation/3d

I run into this fairly often - probably missing something basic....

Untitled.png

In this model there is a wall at each story - so 3 levels in the image.

The walls are the same type, have the same finish and are exactly aligned. When the top two walls are joined the line between disappears, as it should.  I can't seem to get the joint to disappear between the 1st and 2nd levels.

What am I missing?

@umbachdw

Double check how you placed the walls (Base and top constraints and the offsets)

The 1st floor wall was painted with a different material (DRK vs MED) even though they appear the same in your shaded view.

Well that was disappointingly easy.  Thanks.
