I do not currently see an option to change the default wall join.

I did find that this question has been asked previously (Miter Wall Join (as default)), and I’m not seeing any changes in behavior since them.

I did log a wishlist item on this topic.

If there were an option to change the default, would you prefer to see it at the:

Type level (i.e. different default for each wall type)

View level (i.e. change the display of the wall joins for specific views without actually changing the join condition)

Global (i.e. one setting to change the default for all walls in the project)

Lance,

I think having the join type set to miter at a Global level would be the best solution.  I'm not sure I'd want it to be different for different wall types, and definitely not for view types (joining is a real-world condition, not a view-specific one).

It's far more common to have two walls of similar construction (gyp on studs, for example) come together than it is for dissimilar wall types to come together, so mitering would be a more likely condition than a butt join.

Thanks.

Thank you. I've passed on your feedback to our developers.

Almost 6 years later, is there any news on that?

Unlocking layers and extending one of them causes my walls not to miter automatically.
