Wall is missing from roof view

Missing Wall.PNG

I am in the Residential Design book and I was supposed to edit the roof sketch to match the one in the book. Upon clicking the roof footprint like instructed, I realized that a wall was missing. I need it to adjust the roof plan. Any ideas of how to fix it or what is wrong? On the 3D view, the wall is the same as the other one, it is not missing.

Check that the base constraint and the top constraint are the same as the visible wall.

would you mind to add more snap shot, especially when you're editing the roof footprint.

I resolved that issue by using another view, however, a new problem has arisen. Could you help? cannot.PNGcannot two.PNGcannot 3.PNG

I can unjoin the elements, which would not be a problem- it is the fact that it cannot create a footprint that I do not know how to resolve. Any ideas?

Seem like if you add that slope to the front gable over the entrance that it would confuse revit considering that you also have slope on the sides. I wouldn't recommend that you try to add that slope. Just keep slope on both sides. Are having issues with walls joining the roof after you finish laying out your roof?

Also, by the looks of your drawing, you want a hip roof over the structure. I'm trying to picture how you want your roof to look. The roof seems a little cattywampus. Start by explaining what you expect to see from your roof system.

I was following the book's instructions and it had me draw a gable roof and I was supposed to turn it into a hip roof, and that is where I am having problems.

I figured it out at long last, all of the slopes were not the same.
