Wall Face-Centerline Options

Good day to everyone!!! Quick question… I am getting more and more frustrated by the wall choices I don’t have. Either using the dimension tool, placing a wall, or using the align tool, why is it that half the time I open Revit to continue drawing, the system only lets me use Centerline. I have opened and started the same project, I have started from scratch… I just don’t get it… What am I doing wrong? I am using both Revit 14 and 17. This issue has come up in both programs. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

After getting frustrated and clicking all over the place, it seems that the problem isn’t that the dropdown options aren’t dropping down… It’s that I can’t see them. They load and if I drop down the options and click around the ‘type’ changes. So now I’m asking if anyone knows how to fix the visibility issues so I can work effectively…

Make sure your Revit version is up to date.

If this doesn't work, when you have Revit open, double click on the ribbon shown in the attached image (the red x).

It will cycle through visible ribbons and buttons. Once you have gotten to the full tool set visible, try to draw a wall again and select the location line.

It's a known Revit bug that usually doesn't persist and is just often annoying.

Cheers,

-R.

Thank you! I updated my software and it didn't fix it. I'll be jumping on the red X as soon as I'm out of class.
