Wall disappears in section after placing cill family

Hi,

After placing the stone sill in a wall in my model, the wall disappears from all sections. The wall is still there in plan and 3D etc. just not visible in the  section. The stone sill is the Revit ootb one 'Generic models stone with chamfer'. It is also the same with the similar 'Generic models stone with chamfer big'. The sill is highlighted yellow, the missing wall circled red.

Thanks. 2018 10 11 Missing wall.JPG

Select the wall, cut to clipboard and paste it aligned to same place. Try that. This helped me recently when dealing with a similar problem.

Thank you for your suggestion and I have had this and it works with windows not always cutting correctly over different phases, but it has not helped in this instance.

Cool phenom.

Can you post the file?

Hi - here is an upload. Section 1 shows the wall missing but it is still present in floor plans and elevations.

Weird! I have a couple of theories, but try this first:

-Open the Window Family, Remove the Opening Cut and Save it under a New Name

-Load it into Project

-Replace the one that hides the Wall in Section View with this newly named version

-Reopen the newly named version and use a void to cut an opening for the Window

-Load it into Project

I just tested this workflow twice and it seemed to resolve.  Let me know what happens at your end. I may have missed something I did. But it did get the wall back on my end after landing on this workaround.

Get rid of the void in the sill family and use Join geometry instead of Cut geometry between the Sill and the Wall in project.  The wall will show fine in section.

My way works as well.  Smiley (zwinkernd)

Thank you. I've used the other solution as it seems more straightforward but thank you for taking the time to look at this.
