Wall cut family always attaching itself to the wall surface, need it inside the wall

Hi, this family is always attaching itself to the wall surface, is there a way to fsimply "free it" from such an association?

BTW, what do you call such things in english? ducting shafts and holes in walls and floors?

Thanks!

You can check out this trick to set the wall host family into face base family.

So, what you are saying it that the Family is Face-Hosted?  What about simply changing its Host via "Pick New Host"

@syman2000 @barthbradley it does not recognize floors as a host, and in any case it is correct that tis hosted in a wall, I just need to be able to detach it from the wall's edge
