Wall Based - Default Elevation parameter - Group Origin Level Offset

Hello there,

I am having a problem with elevations of wall-based families when there are in a group while changing the Origin Level Offset of the group.

All the wall-based families (except the ones that have Sill Height and Head Height parameters such as windows and doors) have default-instance Elevation parameter. When they are in a group and you change the Origin Level Offset parameter of the group, the Elevation parameter of the family changes randomly and not at all adjusted/relative to the change of the group offset.

Is there anyway to fix this other than loading a group with its owned levels?! Can I somehow connect the Elevation parameter to the wall instead of the level?!

P.S. I only tested it with Generic Models and Speciality Equipments as categories.

Thanks in Advance 😊

I don't know if I'm following you. Are you wanting the move the Group but not the Group Origin. If so, you can re-position the Model Group Origin. It's a blue dot in Elevation View.

Sorry for that. I will try to clarify more.

I need to move the group on Z-Axis. I am using the default instance parameter of groups: Original Level Offset.

The group contains a wall, a window attached to the wall and a generic model family as wall-based.

When I change the value of the Original Level Offset to the group, the wall and the windows move accordingly to the group but not the wall-based generic model family.

Check the attached photos. 😊
