Wall attach top/base height

Hello guys,

I am working with some wall schedules and I realized that there is a difference in wall heights whether you use the attach top/base tool or not. Therefore it also affects the area. We always use the attach top/base tool but the amounts are different.

Here it is an example. See pictures.

The pink wall is attached to the floor and these are the values:

And the green wall is without using the attach top/base tool, just aligned with the floor on top. See the values here:

Can anyone explain this to me?

Thanks,

Maria

Yes, this happens with Attached Top/Base Walls and Profile Edited Walls.  Painting the Surfaces and doing Material Take-Off Schedules is an alternative (and more accurate) way to report Areas.  .

The alternative I use is to not use the attach tool. Personally set up a Global parameter that reports the thickness of the slab (either in my model or a linked model) then I associate that value to the Top Offset of the wall, this way it will report the correct height etc.
