Hello all,
in the office server we have our Central Models for our projects.
These days I am working from home using VPN. The time that I need to create a local copy and to work with it is really long.
So, I created a local copy from the central model and I saved it in my desktop. But I need to reload all the links models that I had in the project (the links model are also in the office server). So it takes again a lot of time to reload each model, and the revit performance is still slow.
Any idea how can I work more efficiently with these workshared projects ?
Thank you in advance!
any network/internet connection is only as fast as its slowest connection.
i have been telling people in my office 300mb or faster is a good start. that is a minimum i often see recommend for internet gaming.....

VPN is not a good way to connect Revit to the office.
Latency is way too long and, as you've found out, things get REALLY slow.
We've had several projects get corrupted because someone was on connected via VPN.
Also, they hung up they rest of the team for 20-30 minutes while their SWC was happening.
Better to find some other means of connecting like Remote Desktop, VMWare, or BIM 360.
