Void Forms / Void Extrusion

Hello All

I am modelling a container with slots/ holes on each side. I have done successfully on front/back view.

When I try to do a void extrusion on the left/right sides, it appears to show the extrusions shapes but they

are an orange colour, and fails to extrude.

Is it only possible to do one void extrusion per geometry? I have tried several times to no avail. (this model is a family).

Can anyone suggest a solution.

Many thanks

It seems that the issue you are encountering in Revit stems from being unable to perform multiple void extrusions when creating a family. You can try the following steps to resolve this:

Check Void Intersections: Ensure that your voids do not intersect. In Revit, intersecting two or more voids can lead to such issues.

Verify Extrusion Direction and Position: Check the directions and start/end positions of your void extrusions. Incorrect settings can cause the extrusion to fail.

Merge Voids: Instead of multiple void extrusions, if possible, create a single void and use it to carve out all desired areas. Using a larger void may achieve the same result.

Verify Work Plane Settings: Make sure you have selected the correct work plane for each void extrusion. Incorrect work plane selection can also lead to such issues.

Reload the Family: After making changes, reload the family into the project. Sometimes this can help resolve issues.

Temporarily Hide Other Voids: Start with a single void extrusion first, then try adding the other voids one by one. This can help identify which void is causing the problem.

Orange just indicates that the Voids are unattached. Use the Cut Geometry tool to attach them.
