Void extrusion sweep not cutting all objects getting error can't keep elements joined.

Hi Brain trust,

any help appreciated. I have a model swept blend that is replicated in 4 quarters, when creating void cuts I am getting an error that it can't be cut on all 4 courters.

I have tried deleting and replicating the sweeps and same for voids, i have tried changing the sizes but am not getting much luck.

It looks like a quite detailed family. Do you really need this? It makes the family relatively heavy.

Also you make use of lot of voids and an array. Both tend to have an impact on performance.

If you really want this level of detail you can try a few things.

-Instead of using voids see if you can create object by multiple solid extrusions/blends/sweeps.

-Instead of using many voids you might try to use one (or at least fewer voids).

-Sequence of joins and cuts might make a difference.

-As Revit is not really suitable for high detailed objects you might try to model it in other software (e.g. 3dsmax, inventor) and then import a mesh into the family.

But in general keep your families simple to keep your projects small and performant.

Thanks for response Louis, appreciate your insite. I'll play around with making a simpler model firstly with less individual cut sweeps and voids as I can see this as having to many clashes in the system. i'm sure there is easier ways to model items like this just finding the right path is the hard part.

thanks again.
