I want to create a parametric perforated brick curtain panel. so normal running bond with every other brick a void. I 1. I create a curtain panel family
2. I create a face based Generic Void family
Conclusion I can do one row but i can't array that row to have multiple rows.
Try to create another Nested face based family.
Problem : Can't really create an array in a face based family as I can't control the distance to next array member, It's already cut so there's no item to align to!
I don't understand your conclusions or problems. What you are describing is a fairly simple construct - something Revit is pretty good at. Look at Curtain Walls for example.
Post your file so we can take a look at it and advise you.

Constrain using ref planes, not geometry.
Not my first rodeo. Can't constrain a void array full stop in that situation. In fact I rethought what I was doing and rebuilt the family by creating brick families and mortar families and arrayed them. Revit behaves like an obnoxious child when voids get involved. And it's handling of arrays is primative, and not in the geometrical sense. But the arrayed solids version behaves like a 20 something adult.

Can you be more specific? What can't you control in the file I gave you?
