Visibility hidden beams in a roof.

I need to create a plan with the insulation in the roof, but I also want to show the beams underneath. I create a filter to those beams, but as far as are below the insulation it wont be shown. Then I apply  a transparency filter to the insulation but I change the color of the insulation which I don not want either.

Is it a way I can show on top some elements that are hidden by others, without using transparency?

For structural Elements you could look at the Hidden Line Properties in the Properties Palette or overriding them via the View Tab > Hidden Line

Use Show Hidden Lines tool under View  tab.
