Visibility Graphics Will not display properly

Okay, the attached screen shot shows a linked in background, and the magenta highlighted element is a lighting fixture.  That fixture is the only thing that lives in my model, all the rest is linked.  (when I have the linked elements selection crossed out, you can still select the light, but none of the rest of the view).  All I want is to turn this pink in the view(it's only pink now because it's my pre-selection color).  I have changed the colors in the object style, the view template, the linked file, and tried to override the graphics just for this element.  Nothing will work.  Also, weirdly noticed that when I half tone the revit link, this also goes half tone, but it's definitely living in my model.  HELP?!?

First is your view filter set to Show All instead of Show Complete? Next can you show us if your links have set to custom in the visibility and graphics.

Here are those things.  No view filters present, the various settings shown.  The lighting fixtures in the linked model are turned off, because I don't want to see them while I'm working in mine.

Can you select the lights in the link if they are light and not something else? I've seen model where those lights are set to generic model.

The family was originally a generic model(it's a custom thing that the architects modeled).  I changed the family type to lighting fixture.

I see. Changing fixture to lighting won't fix the issue. If the family contain other nested family, it will still read as generic model. So you may have to use the family name for that particular light fixture and filter them out.

Share the family.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

I think you have another override acting on the lighting fixture.
