Hi there, I am using Revit 2021, I have a simple model with a topography made and a Linked dwg.
Everytime I open revit, the topo and the dwg link are never visable in my floor plans. I can see them in all other views, however theses they are completely gone.
If I want to see them in a plan view I have to create a new one.
My settings for view range are:
top: associated level offset 2.3m
cut plane: associated level offset 1.2m
bottom: associated level 0.00
the view depth is Unlimited
But I still cant see anything.
In my VG, everything is turned on topo, dwg links, etc.
Anyone have a suggestion?
There could be several reasons for this problem,
First of all, the reason is that the dwg may be linked to be seen in a singular view during the linking process. I suggest you check the settings by adding the dwg again in the manage link window.
Another problem might be View Range which I think you have checked. If you need to check again; take the project to the front camera angle in 3D view and check how high the topography is from the level and update your View range setting accordingly.
Another case: These elements are hidden as elements in the view you are having trouble with. For this reason, come to the view and show the hidden items with the lamp sign and perform your control.
Finally, although I realize that it is still within your control, you can control whether the visibility of the Import elements and topography is turned on with the VV or VG shortcut via the visibilty settings.
Let me know if you have more questions on this topic, you can send the project I can control it in more detail; otherwise please accept it as a solution so that others can benefit from this information.

Hi there,
The CAD link was to all views, not to just one view
My levels cut through the topography so they should show.
I have the VG controlled to show these items
They are not hidden when I select reveal hidden elements
Please find attached the file, I hope that you can find the problem
Many thanks,
Aidan
I don't know what's happening on your end, but on my end, I see everything in Plan View. Is the issue maybe that you have your Survey Point turned on and the View Zoomed to Fit? That would make it hard to see everything in detail because of how small everything would become. Other than that, I can't replicate your issue with your RVT.
Hi @AidanHawkins ;
I agree with @barthbradley. The distance between the survey point and the project base point is so far. (For see the drawing, I should zoom in on the project base point (image: ss0))
I can see dwg file in floor plans except Level 4 (You can see the file if ope the element visibility (image: ss1).
In addition, it is normal that you cannot see topography in some plans because of that VV settings (image ss2)
