Hi all,

I am a student and am new to revit. I know for example when putting a detail on a sheet it shows the view number, sheet number that the callout is from and the sheet that the detail was placed on. I have plan views and detail views and the view title is only showing the title number but I want it to also show the sheet number (on some of my drawings (one professors standards vs the others). How do i edit the view title to show the sheet number?

Thank you!

There are a lot of things going on when dealing with View Title Families.

First thing to know is that a Viewport Family is a system family that has a View Title Family assigned to it.

Here are the steps you want to follow:

1. Select your view on your sheet and click the Edit Type in Properties.

2. Then find the referenced View Title Family listed under the Title parameter and then navigate to that family in the project browser under Families-->Annotation Symbols-->"Family Name".

3. Once you found your view title family, right click and select "edit".

4. Now you will be in the family editing environment, you will want to add a label for each of the parameters you need and place them where you want.

5. Then do a save as, naming it something different, and load it back into the project so that you now have a second view title family.

6. Finally you will want to select your view again and the edit type for the Viewport system family, duplicate it and then assign your new view title family.
