Has anyone found a way to save their view templates?
Has anyone also had problems with their view templates not retaining visibility graphic settings for RVT Links?
Hello,
I assume you have a Revit template file.
You can make your View templates there and connect them to View Types.
When you want also that the Revit Link Visual Graphic overrides are set in to your View templates you could use the following workflow I use in my projects.
Most of the time in our MEP projects we have two linked models. An Architectural model and a construction model.
In my Revit Template file, I link those two models as fictitious models.
If you don’t have a linked model connected to your project, you can’t edit the Revit link settings in your Visibility Graphic Overrides of your View template. There is no Revit Link tab in the Visibility Graphic Overrides dialog if no link is connected.
So if there are one or more links you can edit the link settings in the View templates.
In your new project you can use these fictitious links to reload your linked models.
Then when you make Views you can use the View templates.
Hope this helps making your own Revit templates with linked models.
Hello,
I am not familiar with a tool who does that what you want but it would be nice to have one though.
You could look in the Autodesk App store. Or put your question on the Revit API forum.
The workaround works fine for me but you must be with a solution that fits your needs.
