View Reference Grips

I've seen posts on this in the past relating to text being removed when "annotation crop" region is checked, however, has anyone addressed the actual reason for needing to uncheck that box?  I'ved noticed that my view reference has a grip that is way off screen that, if adjusted, would probably fix that problem.  Any ideas?

My main question out of this post is how do I adjust that grip location in the family itself?   While inside the family editor, I turned on my reference planes and the labels are at the intersection of the 2 reference planes.  How do families locate a grip part of a family, I've turned everything on and still don't see the "grip" icon anywhere.

Reference Planes in families that are "strong references" will have grip controls when loaded into the project.

In the family editor there is no 'grip' icon. Revit determines the grips based on all the objects in the family

So check if nothing is hidden that may cause the problem.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

cbcarch - I've tried adding strong reference planes into the family but it won't move the grip handle.

Enllnt - I've found the issue - there were no objects hidden, it just had to do with my view scale. If I change my view scale from 12" = 1'-0" (Not sure why it was created in that scale) to 1/8" = 1'-0" the grip sits right below the view reference. Any idea how I can modify that extents?
