View Range and linked IFC structural model

When I link in an IFC structural model, the elements do not display in the zone between Cut Plane and View Top. Any thoughts? So, for example, the columns will show, and if I change the view depth, the footings will show, but the girders and joists will not display even with View Top set to 'unlimited'.

Only if I set the Cut Plane to be higher than the steel, will it display.

Suggestions?

Is it the expected behavior? You either use Underlay looking up, or change the Cut plane to above these elements, or use a Reflected ceiling plan.

Is that meant to be way the software works?  That I cannot see beams in a floor plan view, even if they are within the view range?

Yes.

Is it is a floor plan, looking down, you only see what below the cut plane with the exception of a few special categories. Beam is not among these special categories.

Thanks for this @yurikim.  Reading the section on Structural category did help, as well as setting 'Look Up'.   Cheers!
