Hello everyone.
I am struggling to create a color filter on my views.
I have a color key on my projects that shows a generic material for objects (Framed, Masonry, Metal, Concrete, Glazing, Vegetation, ETC). I have created a text instance parameter to imput the name of the material of hte object and applied a view filter to show each one in a different color in cut or projection. For instance if a floor slab is cutted in a section It shows Dark Blue on that view, but if the same floor slab is in projection on a floor plan it shows light blue. So far so good because the floor it´s composed ob one object.
The problem is for elements like windows and doors that have a Panel and a frame. I need to show the material for the panel as well as the material of the frame. But my filter only applies to the entire object.
I´ts ther anyway that I can show both materials in the same object with a filter?
Note: Can´t use a material on the object, because this is a schematic generic plan, to show a generic material and different to the specific material of the element.
Are you just wanting to change the Cut/Projection Colors of the Elements in a View. That's exactly what View Visibility and Graphic Overrides are for. You can put all these VGOs into a View Template and apply them altogether to specific Views.
Also, you can create additional Subcategories in the Family through Object Styles to assign to different Family geometry. These Subcats will carry over to the Project to allow you to allow you to override the Cut/Projection Colors of the Subcategory Elements in a View.
