View disappears during sketch mode

Hi All,

Following on from here...

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/forums/replypage/board-id/133/message-id/220638

I'm getting this as well, unfortunately I need to refer to the information in the linked file so I can't just turn it off.

If I click to create a floor or other sketch based element, the background elements disappear (see attached gif).  You can see them a tiny bit if you scroll in and out quickly.

It does seem some kind of bug, rather than, say, a floor hiding elements in the view.

I tried turning everything off in the link, it didn't help.

I moved the survey point, it didn't help.

I deleted everything from the problem link & purged, but the problem still persists.

If I 'save as' and link in the purged file with a new name, the problem persists.

I linked the problem file into another file, and linked that file in, the problem remained.

If I link the purged file into a new project file, the problem doesn't occur.

If I create a new blank file and link it in to the original project, the problem doesn't occur.

So, there is something residual between the linked file and the linking file which is not related to the geometry that causes the issue.

I've enclosed 2 stripped out files..I'm in Revit 2019.2.1.

Any & All suggestions welcome!

Cheers,

Mark

Hi @Mark.Ackerley

It is a long shot, but could you check your underlay settings?

Under Manage Tab=>Additional Settings=> Halftone / Underlay Halftone settings.JPGAdditional Settings.JPG

Thanks guys, will try everything on Monday :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Something that helps is to turn on shadows, then you can roughly see where you’re aiming for!

@joe_keogh  Well heck! That worked!

Thanks again!

Who on earth went and changed the halftone brightness to 0?!

Off to go rant at the team :grinsendes_Gesicht_mit_lächelnden_Augen:

Cheers,

Mark
