To All Users,
This is a two-part question similar to a question regarding “Views & Visibility Graphics”…
Just wanted to find out if it is still possible to create a view, or regional plan, (partial plan), if a REVIT file had been “Locked-Down”? Seems I am unable to use the View Template tab, or Rt.Click to create a view to insert into my sheet file. I just need a simple floor plan showing the walls and the new equipment in plan view.
This leads to my 2nd question which is similar to a question I had last week which is why am I unable to change the annotation status of some of my floor plans? As I stated above, I only need to show the walls & the new equipment. The existing annotations dimensions, notes, section tags and call outs are blocking areas where I need to show information (electrical switches, outlets, etc., etc.,) and re-tag / dimensions for the tradesperson to use on my shop drawing / sheet.
I know this may seem easy or trivial to the power users. It just seems as if I test something in the REVIT templates or the REVIT Sample Project no problem. Things seem to work. When I open a live or working project, the rules for editing or creation just seem to not work. Also just wondering (no pun intended) Can a Lock-Down Prevent Editing?
Floor Plan 01 no Annotations
Floor Plan 02 Annotations blocking
What do you mean by "Locked Down"? Are you saying you are unable to activate the Right-Click Menu to access Duplicate View? Are you able to Duplicate View from the View Tab?
Hi @Drafter1981
You are in a workset so it seems blocked, you would have to request access and it can be modified.

@Anonymous & @Jamhmer_Oc , and any other users...,
I'm just following up since Autodesk is requesting a follow-up and I really do not have a solution as of yet with the holiday(s).
@Anonymous
I see that we are able to create the “Duplicate View(s)” however, the question remains with editing, in order to get the proper view or see just the walls and devices,
How do we set that up?
Should this be on Sheet Sets tab, or Floor plan tab, or both
(In other words, do I 1st need to create the view and then the sheet for that view?)
I was not aware the sheet creation would be controlled via the Worksets...
As I've stated earlier, I know this may seem easy or trivial to the power users but, other than showing people how to convert REVIT to AutoCAD, I am basically a "NEWBIE" to this process so please be patient with me.
This was related to the “Views & Visibility Graphics in 3D" question that I asked a month ago...
As usual, any information or help would be appreciated.
Thanks again, and to everyone, have a good remainder of the holiday season, & stay safe.
