Vertical ceiling proplem with schedual

Hello all,

I made a vertical ceiling with model-in-place tool as a ceiling and gave it a material but in schedule the area of this material is the sum of all sides of the element as in attachment i made 1X1 meter ceiling and in the schedule it is 2.08m2.   Is there a way to make vertical ceiling and shows right in schedule(area of one face) ? or i have to make it as a wall and filter it out??

Thank you in advance :grinsendes_Gesicht_mit_lächelnden_Augen:

Hi @amr.atiya,

Cannot think of an easy way out of this one.

What you could do though, that should work is create a ceiling, then add a slope arrow that will define the height,

And finally make it as thin as you can in order to have it almost vertical.

It works, I have ckecked (verticality 89.90°) and the quantities compute fine.

But in 3D, it ceates undesirable junctions. You need to keep the thickness extremely low...

Second solution is to apply different materials on the faces of your ceiling. One that you will use for calculations, and one that you will discard.

For that, just use the paint tool on the desired faces (in Modify >Geometry>Paint) with the same material as your ceiling!

I personnaly prefer the second solution.

Hope this works for you,

Cheers,

François
