Verified Views with Revit?

Hi guys, I recently downloaded a tutorial on how to create a 'Verfied View' AKA ' Accurate Visual Representations '  AKA 'Visual Impact Assessment' which are accurate photomontages created using site specific survey data which highlight the visual impact of a proposed scheme or development. They have become central to the UK planning system. Unfortunately this tutorial used 3ds max, I was wondering how someone would create these images using Revit? Are there scripts to enter the survey points automatically? Does Revit have accurate camera matching tools ?

Can you give us an example of the kind of view that you're trying to create?  How are the photomontages created?

If you know the position of the camera - you can set it up.

Share a link to the tutorial you watched then one may understand what you are trying to do and if/how it is doable in Revit

Hi Guys, thank you for your responses, here is a quick summary of his tutorial.

1. A photographer marks their tripods GPS location, height, focal point etc.

2. Photos are marked for the surveyor.

3. Survey points are loaded into 3ds max and matched with the camera in 3d.

(A script was included with the tutorial to Automatically create these points from the survey x,y,z coordinates on an excel spreadsheet, instead of laboriously adding each individually.

4. A camera is placed on the survey point and pointed in the direction of the rest.

5. A photo is used in the background to help match the points in the view.

I suppose my main query is if it is possible to create the 3d survey points in Revit and camera match with a photo set at 1:1 in the background.

Yes … You can use Dynamo to place points from XYZ in excel and to place camera views at those points... node is called PerspectiveView.byEyePointandTarget   OR  byEyePointandElevation cant remember exactly if it was Target or Elevation..
