Hi
I'm using Revit 2015 and I was wondering there is a way to place a room in a place which is defined by the rooms usable space. For example if i am placing a room in a loft or top floor space where the roof slopes down. How can i define the room where only the space with a 1200mm clearance is able to be used?
thanks
Owen

Hi Owen,
Rooms can calculate that space.
Go to a section cut, and select the level.
In the property panel, you can set the calculation height of the level.
It will be the one used by the level rooms!
Do it, go back to your attic plan, and check the surface, it will compute at the right height, so with the right clearance!
Personnaly, in france, the clearance height is 180cm, so I always set the calculation height of every single level at 1.8m.
Only issue will apprea when you are on a balcony, computation height being above the peripheral walls it will not calculate it the right way anymore.
That is when room separations become useful!
